The 8D series is a highly reliable connector compliant to the main standards (MIL-DTL-38999 series III, EN3645, BACC63, CECC) and answer the most stringent requirements in harsh environments.

Available in 5 high end materials and 5 platings (8D aluminum, 8D composite, 8D titanium, 8D stainless steel and 8D bronze), the 8D series connectors fit all the corrosion, shock, endurance or firewall capability you will encounter. A full range of contacts are also available with 8D connectors such as signal transmission, high speed data transmission (quadrax, twinax, coax, ELIO®). 54 QPL layouts are available in accordance with MIL-STD-1560.

The 8D series is compliant with the MIL standard connector design with unique self-locking mechanism (patented by SOURIAU), visual mating indication, scoop proof, quick screw coupling and 360° shielding. The patented self-locking system and the metallic contact retention clip technology make the product perfect for high vibration applications or rough handling in the field. 8D connectors offer concrete RoHS alternative to cadmium. Esterline Connection Technologies – SOURIAU has more than 10 years of experience in producing Zn Ni with continuous improvements to comply with military and aerospace harsh environment conditions. Our Zn Ni connectors are the first one to be qualified by US Defense standards organization (DLA Land and Maritime). It provides the most cost effective solution for a cadmium alternative finish.

The EN3646 series is a compact connector using a self-locking mechanism with bayonet. Compliant with the MIL-DTL-26482 standard, EN3646 connectors are mainly used in applications with high performance demands like aerospace.

EN3646 connectors offer a large range of layouts, signal, power or mixed signal-and-power. A stainless steel version is also available to withstand environments with very long salt spray duration.

EN3646 connectors guarantee a proper and effective sealing at the connector interface and between the connector and cables due to its front and rear silicone elastomers parts. The quick coupling design is time-saving during systems assembly.

The EN2997 series is an enhanced connector dedicated to applications in environments under high constraints in terms of vibration, EMI, and temperatures. EN2997 connectors are typically used in aerospace industry and more particularly on aircraft applications such as engines, sensors, external lighting, power and actuation.

EN2997 connectors provide upgraded vibration performance thanks to a self-locking mechanism with fine-pitched thread. The firewall design resists up to 260°C that provides a secure solution in case of engine fire.

The microComp® series is a miniature high density rectangular connector.

microComp® shells are available in strengthened fiber glass material for a maximum mechanical resistance. Composite shells are up to 36% lighter than aluminum shells. The advanced «Nickel over composite» plating process used on microComp® has been qualified on SOURIAU MIL-DTL-38999 product range. This technology selected by Boeing and Airbus, provides optimized shielding and shell-to-shell continuity.

microComp® male connectors are tamper proof. On HD D-Sub and D-Sub male contacts are the fragile parts of the connector because they can easily be bent. On microComp® male contacts are fully shrouded by the insulator: they are protected and cannot be bent.

With its very short contacts, microComp® connectors have high Ethernet performance.
