The QPC QPlex Expanded Beam Fiber Optic Connector is a modular (12Ch/16Ch/24Ch) connector featuring all the benefits of QPC’s existing expanded beam connectors, in the most compact and rugged housing. The expanded beam connector uses a spherical lens to collimate the signal at many times the original diameter. This technology makes the connector very resistant to shock and environmental issues, minimizing the effects of dust, debris and mechanical vibration. Because the fiber system is non-contact, the connector life is in excess of 3,000 mating cycles, providing a high quality, rugged environment solution.

The QPC QMini Expanded Beam Fiber Optic Connector has been designed to the requirements of MIL-PRF-83526. The hermaphroditic design allows assemblies to be daisy chained together without adapters, allowing for flexibility in system design. The expanded beam connector uses a spherical lens to collimate the signal at many times the original diameter. This technology makes the connector very resistant to shock and environmental issues, minimizing the effects of dust, debris and mechanical vibration. Because the fiber system is non-contact, the connector life is in excess of 3,000 mating cycles, providing a high quality, rugged environment solution.

The 8D series is a highly reliable connector compliant to the main standards (MIL-DTL-38999 series III, EN3645, BACC63, CECC) and answer the most stringent requirements in harsh environments.

Available in 5 high end materials and 5 platings (8D aluminum, 8D composite, 8D titanium, 8D stainless steel and 8D bronze), the 8D series connectors fit all the corrosion, shock, endurance or firewall capability you will encounter. A full range of contacts are also available with 8D connectors such as signal transmission, high speed data transmission (quadrax, twinax, coax, ELIO®). 54 QPL layouts are available in accordance with MIL-STD-1560.

The 8D series is compliant with the MIL standard connector design with unique self-locking mechanism (patented by SOURIAU), visual mating indication, scoop proof, quick screw coupling and 360° shielding. The patented self-locking system and the metallic contact retention clip technology make the product perfect for high vibration applications or rough handling in the field. 8D connectors offer concrete RoHS alternative to cadmium. The series 8819 is easily assembled as no special tools or potting compounds are required to seal the connector. They are available with the standard contact design of 4 or 7 contacts.
